Shock Collar Reviews

The term shock collar is used to describe a family of training collars which include dog bark collars, ecollars or remote training collars. A shock collar for dogs delivers a static correction to the dog via two metal contact points attached to the collar.

If you are tired of hearing incessant barking from your little dog, a bark collar for small dogs may be right for you. A traditional shock collar for dogs administers a static correction when the bark is detected by the collar. The best dog bark collar detects the bark in two ways. First, the collar hears the actual sound of the bark. Second, the collar detects the vibration of your dog’s vocal cords when he barks. This second step is important so that you make sure your dog doesn’t receive a correction for another dog’s bark.

There is another type of dog bark collar that provides an alternative to a static shock. They are known as citronella bark collars. This is a great bark collar for small dogs.

They detect the bark in the same way but instead of delivering a shock, it sprays citronella towards the dog’s nose. This doesn’t harm the dog, but the natural smell of the citronella annoys them.

Another alternative to a shock collar for dogs is an ultrasonic bark collar. An ultrasonic tone is released instead of a shock or citronella burst. This is a high-pitched, unpleasant sound that is only heard by your dog when he is barking. Because it can’t be heard by people, it is difficult to know if it is the most humane way to handle a barking problem.

Back to shock collar training, they can also be used to reinforce correct behaviors. An eCollar for dogs helps you to reinforce the behaviors you want from your dog, such as coming when called. You can also use them to correct chasing digging and other unwanted behaviors. After you push a button on the handheld remote, your dog will receive a stimulation from his electronic collar. This stimulation gets his attention and lets you communicate clearly and consistently. It is controlled by a radio signal that communicates with the dog’s collar.

The best dog training shock control collar has several levels of stimulation that you can choose from. This is especially helpful as all dogs are different, in regards to size and temperament. Different levels of stimulation can be chosen for specific training purposes. Some dog shock collars include a tone or vibrational setting which you can use alone or in conjunction with the correction when you are conducting shock collar training.

A shock collar is also used with an electric fence for dogs. There are three components of an electric dog fence: the collar, the transmitter and the wire. As the dog approaches the wire, he will hear an audible tone. If he continues on, he will receive a mild static correction.

When you look at shock collar reviews, see which one has received the best ratings for being both comfortable and easy to operate.
